It's been a couple of months since I last posted an update; the Facebook advert campaign is still going well, with over 930 members now being a fan of k9directory. Once the numbers top 1,000 members; I can start providing the hotels and cottages with some benefit, by listing late availability offers to the members. I will probably develop a web application that allows the owners of cottages to add their late availability offers directly onto the site. The ad campaign has certainly had a positive impact on sales, last year I wanted to break £35K for the whole year, well we are already upto £57K for the first 4 months of 2010. So I would certainly recommend trying Facebook ads, if you have a distinct group of people you can target.
Here are the recent listings :
Back in October I talked about getting niche videos into the universal search - well it's took me a while to perfect my video production skills using Kdenlive, but I have found a great voice over artist who is producing the audio for me, and in the last month I have produced three new videos. The first, demonstrates how to find the device ID of your USB flash drive in Linux, the second shows you how to use third party sources within Ubuntu to install the Google Chrome web browser in Karmic. The third shows you how to automatically start software after boot up.
I have got more Linux / Ubuntu related how-to videos planned, so if your interested please subscribe to the Youtube channel.
